Andrew Beckwith

Andrew is a native of West Newbury, Massachusetts, graduating summa cum laude from Gordon College and cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. From 2004 to 2007, he served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps in Japan, and he continues to serve our country in the Marine Reserves with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. From 2007 to 2012, he was an assistant chief counsel in the Boston Office of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Andrew joined the Massachusetts Family Institute (MFI), the local associate of Focus on the Family, in 2012 and took on the role of president in 2014. He is also an allied attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom.  Andrew uses his training as a litigator and his experience advocating for family values to educate and equip people of faith to make a difference in our culture. In 2016, he authored “Engage the Bay State: A Call to Christian Civic Stewardship in the Commonwealth,” ( http://www.mafamily.org/engage/ ) a widely used resource for churches and pro-family activists in Massachusetts.  He also regularly appears on TV and radio as a leading voice for family values.

Andrew is a man of strong faith and devoted to his wife, Karen, and their four children. From the State House to local schools and houses of worship, Andrew is dedicated to leading MFI’s mission of strengthening the family and affirming the Judeo-Christian values upon which it is based.
