The Book of Revelation and Global Crisis: Learning to Hope During a Pandemic Apocalypse

March 31, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

A Lecture by J. David Franks, Ph.D.

The world is gripped by tribulation now. Apocalyptic prophecy provides guidance on how to live well despite death’s dominion. How might Christian disciples cultivate hope in the world and in our children? The culminating vision of Scripture reveals how the ever-greater Trinitarian love is mediated into the battleground world with our battleground hearts.

J. David Franks is chairman of the board of Massachusetts Citizens for Life, the Commonwealth’s pro-life authority, directing its Lincoln Forum for Human Dignity, an attempt to renew civic conversation through liberal arts and high culture. He is also a research fellow at the Abigail Adams Institute in Cambridge, conducting its flagship program, The Great Conversation. David received his Ph.D. in systematic theology from Boston College, and was professor of sacred theology for almost a decade at St. John’s Seminary, where he co-founded the Theological Institute for the New Evangelization.
